I got carried away.

My good friend Shannon invited me on Monday to G'Nosh, an amazing place where you paint a piece of art with a professional while sipping a glass of wine with friends.  I told you it was amazing.  We had so much fun, and it unintentionally started an itch I had to scratch.  So, Tuesday afternoon I headed to Hobby Lobby.  I left with brushes, acrylic paint and 5 canvases.  Seriously.

Then, the mayhem began.  I've been wanting a cool piece for my dining room.  Everytime I find pieces I like, they are FAR too expensive.  Why is art so expensive?  It is WAY more fun to do yourself.  I digress.  In my living room, I made an arrangement of fall'ish flowers, and as accents I added a few peacock feathers.  I love the way the teal picks up the blues in my living room.  So, I started searching on Etsy for fun peacock prints.  I figured it might tie things together more if I had peacock accents in both rooms.  I found this picture and was sold.  It had all the colors found throughout my house, and I thought it might be doable to paint it on my own.

I started painting when Knox went to bed, and had the large portion on the left completed.  I finished all of the residual feathers last night.  The finished product:

I love the way it turned out.  Now I just need a larger buffet table and our dining room will be complete.  Finally.

Now, I couldn't stop there.  I had four more canvases, and wanted to do something different in Knox's room.  I have always wanted 1 Samuel 1:27 incorporated in his room somehow.  Stephen has really wanted his handprints somewhere.  I decided to put the two together, and then I played off his light switch covers/growth chart to do the shadow animals.  I love how it turned out.  I ended up hanging his mobile from the ceiling so that the art took the main stage.  He loves watching it twirl on it's own now, too.  Here's the final product:

Knox seems to like all of the changes...
