{Blakely}: 7 months!

Sweet Miss B is 7 months old.  Holy cow.  It's flying by way too fast for me, and I catch myself trying to slow the minutes/hours/days down and really soak in all of the moments.  She is just pure joy, and we love her more than we ever thought we could.  Everyone that meets her comments on how easy and chill she is.  Definitely thankful for that, ha!  She has her momma's fiestiness, though (see video below).

She is still the best sleeper.  She goes to bed around 7:45pm and wakes up between 8-8:30am.  She takes 2-3 naps/day, and plays plays plays when she's awake!

Some of the major milestones this month were starting solid foods and beginning to crawl.  She tasted food for the first time and hasn't slowed down...she loves to eat sweet potatoes, bananas, apples, squash, carrots, black beans, green beans, avocados and peas.  She also really likes eating on her own, and will eat puffs, yogurt melts, mum-mums, and pancakes/waffles this way.  I feel a lot more at ease with foods this time around, and love how open she is to trying new things.  She will let you know, though, when the food is gone and she's not done.  Man, she gets hangry!  So funny.

She is also very close to crawling.  She's been getting up on all fours to rock for a while now, but just recently realized she can combine that move with an all-out lunge/face plant and get across the room.  We often will sit her down and come back to find her in a different spot, very far from where we originally placed her.  She loves trying to get to her brothers toys, so we always keep a very close eye on her.  She knows what she likes, though, and is always happier playing with him and his stuff than with her dolls and toys.  We'll work on that.  Small cars and planes aren't very baby-friendly.

She is very spirited, almost always smiling and happy.  She has a tinge of stranger-danger, but also gets glowing reports after being in the nursery at church.  She is definitely teething, but no teeth have cut through yet.  Don't think I don't stick a finger in there daily looking for one, though.

She is obsessed with her Bubba.  Literally, hearing his voice from the other room and she breaks out into a huge smile and giggles.  She can't keep her eyes off of him when she's awake, and when I get her out of her crib after sleeping, she starts scanning the room trying to find him.  He is so great with her, and loves making her laugh.  It truly is the best feeling in the world to see them interact.  Everything I could have ever dreamed of.

I've included some pics from this last month...we did a lot!

{Knox}: First Day of Pre-K

The 2014-2015 school year is upon us.  Knox has grown so much this past year, and I'm excited to see the growth and maturity throughout this year!  He is absolutely my favorite little man in the whole world, and seeing his excitement for school warms my heart.

He is attending Lakeway Christian Preschool again this fall, and will be in school M/W/F.  As a bonus, he will be in class with his cousin Conner!  His teachers are Ms. Kathy, Ms. Sharon and Ms. Liz.  It's always nice to have a quiet house for a few hours to get things done, but I'm itching to go pick him up at 1.

I saw this ALL.THE.TIME, but I'm so in love with this age.  His humor, wit and stubborn-nature keep me on my toes, and I honestly feel like I have a little bestie running around with me all day.  He's going to do big things, people.  Watch out!

Miss B had to get in on the back-to-school action!

And since I'm posting, I thought I'd include a few recent pictures of these two nuggets.  They are starting to really "play," and I love how good Knox is with her.  Such a nurturer.

(even when she's grabbing at him!)

Start of pre-K means start of football!  SIC 'EM!!!

Happy Fall, Y'all!
