Bluebonnets

We were in Austin last weekend, and right at the entrance of my parents neighborhood there was a patch of Bluebonnets.  I figured since we could walk there, we should probably have a photo shoot.  We all got ready, and headed out.  Unfortunately, a storm was rolling in and the wind was unreal.  I never got a smiling one...at 2, though, even if the conditions had been amazing I'm not sure we would have had any winners.

I'll take what I can get!

After the bluebonnet fiasco, we headed to the park.  MUCH better mood when he knew the park was in his future!

Thinking I might have to have a re-do, just to see :)

St. Patty's Fun

Friday at lunch we had a St. Patty's party in one of the MOM's clubs I'm in.  We had such a great time, and Knox loved there were "big boy" toys this time.  He played on the John Deere riding lawnmower all afternoon.  He figured out how to push the pedal for it to drive, and then I was frantic making sure he wasn't running everyone over!

I'm so blessed to have so many mommy friends in or around my neighborhood.  They are all so fun, which is a good thing since I see them almost daily!  Here we all are in our green:

That afternoon we traveled to Austin.  It was a bit last minute, but I'm so glad we were able to spend time with the cousins and celebrate my sister's 27th (that old fart).  We ate, and ate, and ate, and had green beers, and played dominos, and ate, and even had a green bath!

This time Knox was all about it.  I'm so glad, because these pictures are so cute!

I love Conner peeking over the edge!

The dudes shampooed...pretty cute!

We used to do the St. Patrick's day parade on Greenville.  Now we fill green bathtubs.  My how things have changed!

Football

Our neighbors are fantastic.  They have two boys, Wade and Ryan, and thankfully both boys love our little one.  Yesterday, Wade was outside practicing football.  We decided to head out and "help him."

What started as good clean fun ended in Knox hijacking the football.  He seriously wouldn't give it up.

Once the boys gave up and laid down, he decided to join in!  So cute!!

J-Dub and Knox

We had our friends over on Sunday for dinner.  We love Chris and Courtney, but John Wesley just melts my heart.  He is so good with Knox, and loves cars and trucks almost as much.

The boys had a great time playing in the post-rain sunshine, and ended the night with some silly bed jumping and reading/rocking in Knox's chair.

Aren't these two so cute together?

Frontiers of Flight Museum

We had a fun playdate with our neighborhood friends at the Frontiers of  Flight museum at Love Field.  As you all know, Knox is obsessed with planes.  As we were driving up and ooh'ed and ahhh'ed until we got out.  Outside are some army and navy-type planes, and the tails of some Southwest planes.  He wanted to touch all of them...but it was so windy we headed inside pretty quickly.

Inside the play area, they had a "kid-sized" plane that they could get in and pilot.  Claire and Knox loved flying it, and Knox even liked sliding down the emergency chute.

They had smaller things around the area, like this motorized Jay Jay plane and the plane bookcases.

Towards the back of the museum, you could get inside the planes and run around.

They loved it.

Before we left, we sat and watched some Jay Jay cartoons in the theater.  Knox got quite relaxed and enjoyed the show.

I suggest going to the museum if your kids like planes.  It's an easy outing, and they had a great time.

Lately...

We've been busy...the weather is too amazing to not be out and about.

Knox's main squeeze, Alex, was in town from Houston.  We met for a picnic lunch and they shared a few smooches!

There's nothing cuter than kids holding hands.  Love it.  He shared a couple smooches with Emily right after this picture...he gets around.

We spent the weekend semi-white trash.  We moved Knox's slide to the side yard while we played corn hole.  And drank a beer.  You can judge, but you're just jealous :)

Knox loves being independent and scooting on his own down the sidewalk.  He's such a big boy.

And his favorite part of afternoons at the park?  Swinging.  Add a truck to the mix, his head explodes.

Love those baby blues...

And that's our past week...brought to you by instagram.  Follow Stephen and I: Kdotson1230 and Dot329.

Now, get out and enjoy the weather.  It's incredible.
