God is good, all the time.

A few months back I was reading a friends blog when she mentioned her sorority sister was in the ICU with pneumonia and mono.  She was 28, a mother of two very young children, and a wife to her High School sweetheart.  She  never made it out of the hospital.

It hit me hard, and I don't even know them.  She was 28, her youngest not even a year old.  Her husband was left without his soulmate, and now a single-father.  He started a blog shortly after her passing, both for cathartic reasons and to share the life they lived together, in love.  I have read every post, and a few weeks ago started praying he would be able to move on and find love again.

Tuesday, my mom and I were absent-mindedly watching Live! with Kelly, and this story came on: http://bcove.me/r53xssoo.  They had won the wedding contest, and their story touched me so much.  How incredible, that two grieving parents could find love again, with someone that could relate to them on a level no one else could.

I thought of Gabe after seeing the story.  What if he could find someone like that?  I know it's crazy, I don't even know him.  But everyone deserves a second chance at love.

This morning, his recent blog post appeared at the top of my blog roll ("Part of the Miracle").  I clicked and began reading, as goosebumps spread down my arms.  I am in awe of the One who can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.  What a blessing.  God is so good, all of the time.

Read Gabe's post here!  And read his others, while you are at it.  He has such a gift for writing, you'll be blessed!

  2. That's funny--I have been reading his blogs, too, and I don't know him. I have a lot of friends who knew them from Tech and I even babysat one of their kids while they went to her funeral. The story really got to me, too. It is so sad!

  5. I didn't know he had a blog. That post was awesome! They went to my church. I don't think they had been going there for long when she passed, but I remember sitting in church on Sunday and the pastors were talking about her tragic passing. I couldn't wipe the tears away fast enough. So, incredibly sad. So glad you shared his new chapter of his life. I'll be reading more from him now. :)
